Nilfisk-Advance HEPA vacuum cleaner controls allergies from dust and cat and dog dander.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT NILFISK FAMILY VAC

What does NiIfisk-Advance America, Inc. do?
Nilfisk-Advance America, Inc. manufactures high filtration vacuum cleaners for both industrial and residential customers. Nilfisk vacuum cleaners are used industrially for such applications as the cleaning of NASA's space shuttle cargo bay, the maintenance of pharmaceutical clean rooms and asbestos/lead abatement projects. The Family Vac residential vacuum cleaner provides the allergic patient with both industrial strength filtration and excellent suction in a canister model. This vacuum cleaner is ideal for the home environmental control of such irritants as molds, pollens, cat and dog dander and dust mite particles.

Is the Nilfisk Family Vac loud?
The Family Vac generally runs at about 59 decibels, so it is quieter than most vacuum cleaners. In fact, Nilfisk vacuum cleaners are used in many hospitals, where it is generally very important to keep the noise level at a minimum.

Why haven't I heard of the Nilfisk name before?
Although Nilfisk is a relatively new household word, it is very well known in the industrial market. Since 1910, Nilfisk-Advance A/S has been manufacturing state-of-the-art vacuum cleaners for industrial applications. Pioneering the concept of high filtration vacuum cleaners for allergy patients, Nilfisk-Advance America, Inc. was one of the only companies to attain scientific data through medical research. Now, Nilfisk-Advance provides allergy patients with vacuum cleaners that they can use in their homes, making Nilfisk the brand of choice for many doctors. Since there is a high demand for such a vacuum cleaner among environmentally conscious individuals, Nilfisk vacuum cleaners are quickly gaining recognition among the general public.

What makes the Nilfisk Family Vac vacuum cleaner so special that I should buy it instead of any other vacuum cleaner?
Since most vacuum cleaners use a single porous bag that is only capable of retaining large dirt particles, the smaller particles, including allergens you can't see, are being spewed back into your breathing air. Nilfisk employs three separate filters in their vacuum system, each of which is made to retain allergens to a specific micron size. As the allergens move through the filtration system, mold, pollen, animal dander and dust mite particles are captured and retained. The third and final filter is the FIEPA filter. This filter is capable of retaining all particles down to and including 0.3 microns in sizes at 99.97% efficiency. Some vacuum cleaners may also offer additional filters in their systems, but even after all filters are combined, the vacuum cleaner is still not as efficient or effective as the Nilfisk Family Vac.

What if I don't have rugs, do I still need a Nilfisk vacuum cleaner?
Most definitely! Allergens deposit themselves on ftirniture, drapes, mattresses, clothing people wear in to the house and, surprisingly enough, floor board crevices.

Why is the Family Vac a canister and not an upright model?
Due to the nature of their design, canister model vacuum cleaners tend to have far greater filtration capabilities than do uprights. In addition, canister vacuum cleaners can be used in areas that uprights generally can not, such as on drapes and frirniture.

Is the Nilfisk Family Vac vacuum cleaner heavy?
The Family Vac only weighs about 13 pounds.

What is the difference between the turbo nozzle and the power nozzle?
The difference between the two nozzles pertains to which nozzle should be used for which kind of carpeting pile levels and the mechanics used in their suction methods. The turbo nozzle is recommended for low to medium pile carpeting. It is an air driven brush that works off of the suction of the vacuum cleaner. The power nozzle is recommended for medium to high pile carpeting and has an electrically driven brush that works off of its own motor. Since the power nozzle is self-driven, it is more powerflul than the turbo nozzle. The turbo nozzle is, however, an excellent less expensive alternative.
