IQAir HealthPro and HealthPro Compact: For Allergy Sufferers The HealthPro and HealthPro Compact are recommended for allergy sufferers who do not have any particular need for gas or odor control. Instead of an activated carbon filter the HealthPro features a pressure equalization chamber between the fan and HEPA filter to maximize air delivery. It is also more economical since there is no activated carbon filter to replace. Note: The HealthPro can be upgraded to the HealthPro Plus if needs change; the HealthPro Compact, however, can not be upgraded. IQAir Cleanroom Series:Professional Control of Particulate Contaminants These units are generally chosen for medical and commercial applications (such as doctor's waiting rooms, pharmaceutical and research laboratories), but can be used in a home environment. The IQAir Cleanroom Series utilizes advanced HEPA and ULPA filter technology which delivers certified filtration efficiencies up to 99.997% at 0.12 microns. IQAir HealthPro vs. the HealthPro Plus The difference between the IQAir HealthPro and the HealthPro Plus is that the HealthPro Plus has an extra filter stage. This stage is called the V5-Cell Filter and is used to absorb gases and odors. While both the HealthPro and HealthPro Plus will remove nearly all particles from the air, only the HealthPro Plus is designed to also remove gases and odors. Our recommendation is to choose the HealthPro Plus over the HealthPro unless you have a very specific application that requires removal of particulates from the air without the need to remove odors or volatile organic compounds. We prefer the HealthPro Plus because removing both particulates (dust, dander, pollen, etc.),and gaseous pollutants (pet and cooking odors, chemical fumes, etc.) is the most effective way to deliver clean air. Chemical and Odor Contaminants If you have a serious problem with chemical vapors in your environment, you may need to consider the IQAir GC Series. Within this line, we generally prefer the IQAir MultiGas GC or GCX. This unit offers the best control of chemicals and odors and removes almost as much of the particulates from the air as the regular HealthPro models. The MultiGas GC or GCX is recommended where there is a need to remove significant amounts of volatile organic compounds such as formaldehyde and paint fumes or where there is an excessive amount of odors and gaseous contaminants. The MultiGas GC and GCX are especially well suited to removing Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS) from your breathing space. The IQAir MultiGas GC is one of the world’s most comprehensive, self-contained, air cleaning systems designed specifically for the removal of ETS. Note: For minor amounts of smoking, the HealthPro Plus will be excellent, but for smoking areas or critical applications, the MultiGas GC or GCX will be the one to choose.
