Choice of Two Types of Filters
In addition to the HEPA particle filter, Blueair air purfiers give you the choice of an additional SmokeStop or Gas filter for use with the particle filter, for optimal air quality depending upon your environment and specific needs.
Particle Filter: Removes many airborne allergens and lung damaging pollutants such as house and textile dust, pollen, smoke, cat and dog dander, dust mites and their feces, automobile exhaust, soot particles from laser printers and copiers, bacteria, fungus and mold spores. Blueair air purifiers reduce odors, too. The particle filter is made of a polypropylene material that mechanically filters out airborne particles. To maximize filter effectiveness, particles are bombarded with a negative electrostatic charge as they are drawn toward the filter.
SmokeStop Filter: Combines the particle filter with an enhanced active carbon filter for heavy-duty odor control. This filter is best suited for use in areas that may fill with heavy gaseous pollutants, such as cigarette and cigar smoke.
And changing filters is fast and easy. There are three filters in the unit which can be changed in seconds. There is no disassembly or tools required. You simply open the unit, slide the used filters out and replace them.
